On Tuesday, July 11, 2017, the Yemeni American Merchants Association organized a media campaign aimed at highlighting the suffering of the green card lottery winners who are affected and stranded in different parts of the world such as Malaysia, Djibouti and others, it was able to attract a number of news agencies including the Reuters expose on their plight. The campaign consisted of a live broadcast via Zoom with 8 Yemeni diversity visa lottery winners who endured obstacles by the Muslim Ban. The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee and Amnesty International participated in the discussion.
