On June 11th, after a never ending battle to get Rasha to the US, she was finally reunited with her husband Dr. Mohammed. Dr. Mohammed contacted YAMA last fall about his wife’s visa denial, where we connected him with ADC National to assist in applying for a waiver. We also advised him the only way we can help him is to speak publicly about his pain and suffering. Dr. Mohammed flew from Little Rock, Arkansas on Dec. 26th to join us for our emergency rally on Dec. 27th to share his story. We were able to get his story on WNYC, NPR, and the NY Times. With YAMA’s help, Dr. Mohammed told his own story in USA Today on Eid day, June 15th.
